Beach Boys legend well enough for Dublin shows after surgery

The legendary Brian Wilson has confirmed that his two Dublin shows will go ahead this summer after successful surgery put him on the road to good health.

The genius behind The Beach Boys will perform two intimate shows at Vicar Street on August 21 and 22.

In a statement issued today, Wilson said: “I was totally blown away by all of the well-wishes I received from everyone regarding my surgery. It was overwhelming and I so appreciate it.

“The surgery went very well and my doctor says there were no surprises and they were able to take care of what they needed to.”

He added: “Melinda and I are very grateful to all the doctors and nurses who have taken such good care of me. I look forward to singing and playing with my band soon and getting back in the studio.”
