The Ballyboden girls celebrate their victory in Kerry.

BALLYBODEN St Enda's were the sole Dublin representative at this year's Lidl Comórtas Peile Páidí Ó Sé 2017, the famed club Gaelic football tournament and festival which took place recently in the Dingle Peninsula in Kerry.

The Boden Ladies were defending 2017 champions and didn't disappoint again when they met Mullahoran of Cavan in the final, winning on a scoreline of 9-9 to 5-3, a relative cruise to victory.

As champions, they are automatically invited back next year which will be the 30th anniversary.

The prestigious event celebrates the life of the legendary Páidi Ó Sé who became Kerry manager.

Comórtas Chairman Pádraig Ó Sé, said they were delighted that Ballboden St Enda's had enjoyed thier success once again and that they will be back next year.

“We hope this will be a catalyst for the year ahead,” he said.

“The festival has that combination of all that’s great about the GAA, lovely scenery, and friendly locals, which makes it a winning formula.

The football festival, which welcomed over 1,000 players, mentors and supporters to West Kerry, was officially launched by the German Ambassador to Ireland Dieke Potzel and Minister of State for Tourism & Sport, Brendan Griffin, at Mercy Mounthawk School GAA pitch in Tralee.

There they met the men and ladies of Team Germany, made up of six German GAA clubs.
