Runners get set for the buzz of Bray run

Dublin People 05 Mar 2018
You, too, could be like this enthusiastic participant in last year’s Bray Cliff Run.

THE seventh year of the hugely popular Bray 10km Cliff Run is taking place on Saturday, March 31.

The event was sold out in 2016 and 2017 and organisers are hoping they will have as much success again in 2018.

This is no ordinary 10k run, as it brings competitors along the dramatic cliff path from Greystones beach to Bray promenade, and with views across Dublin Bay it is a fantastic way to spend a spring evening.

The buzz around Bray for this event is infectious – a stunning race in a stunning place.

There is prize money for the winners and every year the event attracts more attention from around the globe with some international competitors taking part.

Mona Purcell, the race director at Killary Gaelforce, said: "This event has it all. It is suitable for all fitness levels, from elite runners to those who just want to walk or jog and it is the perfect goal for anyone who wants to improve their health or to keep on top of their training

“The scenery is amazing and is one of the things that makes this event so special.

It is also a big social event – the amazing people at The Martello Hotel in Bray host an after-party for all who take part with live music, a free beer and a super atmosphere as competitors catch-up on race chat and relax afterwards. It is always great fun.”

This year there is a great line up of live music at The Martello including Brendan McCahey.

“Each year we also team up the Amnesty International as our charity partners – anyone taking part for Team Amnesty will get a discounted entry,” Mona added.

“Our event sponsors John West provide loads of nutritional information to our athletes in the build up to the event.”
