‘I can guarantee McGregor victory’

A WELL-KNOWN Southside psychologist has claimed that Conor McGregor won’t lose his next fight if he is hypnotised.

Jason O’Callaghan has said that he guarantees the Crumlin fighter will be victorious in his anticipated clash with Floyd Mayweather if he undergoes hypnosis.
The reigning UFC lightweight champion has been pursuing a mega-money boxing match with Mayweather for the last few months.
A deal to see ‘The Notorious’ take on the American has yet to be finalised but talks have reached an advanced stage.
O’Callaghan, who gained worldwide media attention in 2016 when he hypnotised a groom at Gatwick Airport to overcome his fear of flying so he could go on his honeymoon, says if McGregor is hypnotised he can’t lose the €100 million-dollar fight.
The award-winning clinical hypnotherapist says he will use the same method of hypnosis on McGregor as Tony Quinn used on boxer Steve Collins to beat world champion Chris Eubank in 1995.
Speaking about his proposal to the MMA fighter the psychologist said: “In 1995 Steve Collins went into the ring the underdog against the world champion Chris Eubank.
“Collins was not expected to win, as he was not expected to hit as hard as Eubank, punch as quick as Eubank or move as quick as Eubank.
“Collins, however, had something Eubank did not have – Collins had been hypnotised to feel no pain.”
He added: “Now, for a boxer winning is all about psychology. If you believe you are the champion, if you know you cannot lose, under any circumstances, if you have upset your opponent before you even set foot in the ring with mind games and if you can feel no pain, no matter how often you get hit, you can’t lose.”
O’Callaghan, who operates from the D4 Clinic in Blackrock, insists that if Conor goes under hypnosis, he will have access to the part of his mind which will give him 90 per cent more power.
“Imagine, so far in his career, he has only been using 10 per cent of his psychological power to win all his fights.
“So, think about what he could do if he had access to the other 90 per cent of his mind using hypnosis. This will guarantee his success. I will work with him to ensure he does not lose, that he feels no pain and that he comes home the victor.”
Last week BoyleSports threw their support behind McGregor to defeat Mayweather in the ring.
Initially installed at 9/1 earlier in the year, McGregor is now 6/1 from 13/2 to defeat Mayweather with the former undefeated Mayweather remaining odds on at 1/12 but eased from 1/16.
The boxing match to end in a draw is currently priced at 33/1.
Liam Glynn, BoyleSports spokesperson, said: “Despite being the outsider to defeat Mayweather it’s all one-way traffic for Conor McGregor at the minute.
“If the fight manages to go ahead we will be knocked out having laid bets on The Notorious at 9/1, 8/1, 13/2 and his current price of 6/1.”
He added: “McGregor’s latest appearance was at the Aintree Grand National and judging by the support for McGregor, punters are expecting the fight to go ahead.”
