Chamber raises €500 for charity McVerry Trust

THE Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber hosted its President’s Lunch at the stunning Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel recently where €500 was donated to the Peter McVerry Trust. 

The money was raised through a raffle with 10 prizes donated from local business including Musgraves Marketplace, McLoughlin’s Gastro Pub, Radisson Blu Hotel, Talbot Hotel Stillorgan, Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel, Leinster Rugby, Dublin South FM, 2Upskill.com and the Royal Marine Hotel. 

The DLR Chamber will be hosting a second raffle for the Peter McVerry Trust on Tuesday, December 13 when it hosts a Christmas social evening at its offices in Haigh Terrace, Dun Laoghaire. The event will run from 5.30pm -7pm and is open to both members and non-members.

Pat Neill, the President of DLR Chamber, said: “While Christmas is a joyful occasion for the business community to network and socialise, it is also essential we reflect on those less fortunate and do whatever you can to aid in correcting their hardships.

“The Peter McVerry Trust is a vital support service for the homeless crisis in Ireland and it is essential the business community continue to do whatever it can in supporting it.”

Mr Neill added: “I would like to sincerely thank all our businesses who generously donated to this raffle.”

The DLR Chamber lunch was attended by over 150 people from across the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown business community and was sponsored by AIB.

Special guests included Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’ Connor, Dr Shelia Willis, Director of General Forensic Science Ireland, Dearbhla Lawson, Director of Economic, Community and Cultural Development, DLR County Council and Eithne Fitzpatrick of Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel.
