New champion is just the ticket for children’s music charity

A CHILDREN’S charity that aims to provide every child in Ireland with a musical education has received support from a giant in the music business.
Ticketmaster has thrown their backing behind the Musical Youth Foundation charity, which is looking for 300 ‘Champions’ to donate €500 each to help change the lives of hundreds of vulnerable children throughout Ireland.
It is run by Southsider Chris Maher, the CEO and founder, who said the charity was thrilled to welcome Ticketmaster to their growing family of Music Education Champions.
“Our goal is to ensure that children who otherwise wouldn’t get the opportunity will have access to life-changing music education programmes across Ireland,” Mr Maher said.
The Musical Youth Foundation was set up to offer kids an equal opportunity to have what Maher believes is the truly life changing experience that learning an instrument can provide.
Ticketmaster, which has joined the foundation’s Champions of Music Education project, also purchased two hand-crafted instrumental art guitars from the charity.
Paul Skeffington, Head of Business Development, said: “Ticketmaster is delighted to be able to support the Musical Youth Foundation in this very practical way. The foundation’s work with children is very important and we are very happy to partner with them in this exciting project.”
Ticketmaster Managing Director, Keith English, added: “We would encourage other businesses to get involved with this very worthwhile project.”
Mr Maher said: “The Musical Youth Foundation children’s charity is thrilled to welcome Ticketmaster to our family. Our goal is to ensure that children who otherwise wouldn’t get the opportunity, will have access to life-changing music education programmes across Ireland.”
