Sinn Féin condemns ‘despicable’ murder of Drimnagh man
Dublin People 18 Aug 2016
THE Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh has condemned the murder of Irish man Trevor O’Neill in Majorca.

The victim is reported to have been targeted in a case of mistaken identity and the killing is thought to be linked to an ongoing criminal feud.
Speaking today, Deputy Ó Snodaigh said: “All reports point to this murder being a case of mistaken identity. The man was completely innocent. He was on holiday with his wife and three children and his life was taken away from him by criminal thugs.
“I would appeal to these criminals to bring this feud to an end before more lives are lost.
“A woman has lost her husband and three children have lost their father in a despicable act of violence by criminals who are intent on taking each other out with no regard for innocent bystanders.
“My sincere condolences go out to the man’s family, his wife and their children and all his friends at this time.”
Spanish media reported that Trevor O’Neill, a Dublin City Council worker from Drimnagh, was shot in front of family members and friends.
The group had just finished a family meal when he was targeted.
He was shot four times in the back shortly after 9pm yesterday outside a supermarket in Costa de la Calma beside the popular tourist spot Santa Ponsa.
It is understood several children were nearby when the attack took place.
Police said they are hunting three suspects, including a man who pulled a hoodie over his face before carrying out the attack.
