BUDDING hurlers from Dublin will have a chance to show off their skills on Saturday, July 23 as Centra hosts a community hurling event in Ballyboden St Endas GAA Club.

Hurling stars Dotsy O’Callaghan, Seamus Hickey and Padraic Maher, will be taking part in the event that is being run alongside Centra’s Live Well initiative, which promotes healthy living and encourages people to get active.

The trio of players will be putting participants to the test with the #LiveWell Target Chal-lenge at the event, as clubs aim to secure a place at the ultimate day out in Croke Park later this year.

On Saturday, July 23, one lucky Dublin GAA club will win a once in a lifetime trip to Croke Park where they will receive a hurling skills session from the best hurlers in the country on the hallowed grounds.

As well as this, they will receive an all access pass to behind the scenes areas of Croke Park.

Centra, which recently announced the extension of its sponsorship of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship to 2019, will be encouraging fans to live well and get active this summer with 12 community hurling events taking place throughout the country.

The events will see thousands of children receiving hurling skills sessions with inter-county stars, along with healthy eating tips and hydration suggestions to promote healthy living.

As well as all the sporting action there will be lots of other family entertainment on the day including face-painting and a hurling simulator.

The hurling skills session is open to boys and girls of all standards from age five to 12.

Throughout the summer Centra will have a series of #LiveWell hurling challenges, led by King Henry, as they encourage the nation to pick up a hurl, test their skills and upload their videos online in order to win superb prizes.

The current #LiveWell challenge, which is open for entries until July 17, is the ‘Centra Side-line Cut Challenge’ with the winner becoming the flag bearer at the All-Ireland Championship final.

Fans simply enter by uploading their video on social media using #LiveWell.
