Fit team join Ella’s campaign

THE team at Rathfarnham’s énergie Fitness club in Nutgrove Retail Park are pictured after raising €2,000 for a local girl.

They backed the Ella’s Wish to Walk campaign by hosting a fun family fundraiser last Bank Holiday Monday, June 6.

Three-year-old Ella Doyle, from Rathfarnham, was born with cerebral palsy which causes tightness in her leg muscles, meaning she cannot walk or stand independently. Ella walks with a walking frame but as time progresses she will need a wheelchair.

The brave and beautiful little girl now has a life changing opportunity to have pioneering surgery in the USA, which will help her to walk independently.

To make this dream a reality, her family need to raise €150,000, which will fund the surgery and an intensive physiotherapy program. They need to hit 50 per cent of the total target by August and they have so far raised €30,000.

The fitness club hosted a ticketed Swimming Gala & Pool Party that was attended by over 200 locals who enjoyed fun and games organised by club manager Eoin Kaar and Ella’s mum, Nicola.
