Black tie ball is for little heroes

LAURALYNN’S first black tie ball takes place in The Round Room of the Mansion House on May 28 with proceeds going towards providing palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Miriam O’Callaghan and Dublin hurlers, Ryan O’Dwyer, David O’Callaghan, Colm Cronin and Joey Boland swapped out their usual kit for superhero costumes to show their support for Ireland’s Children’s Hospice’s inaugural ball.

The group are calling on the public to ‘Save the Day’ for the very first LauraLynn Heroes Ball that will celebrate all the little heroes that have been in and out of LauraLynn.  

Lauralynn provides palliative care to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

With a focus on enhancing quality of life, LauraLynn provides support from diagnosis, to end of life, and throughout bereavement with a range of practical, emotional and medical care for the whole family. 

The LauraLynn Heroes Ball goers are promised a memorable evening with Miriam acting as MC.

There will also be music by crowd-rousing band Perfect Day, a comedy themed Q&A and an auction presided by Allsop’s Robert Hoban with some jaw-dropping items up for grabs. 

Miriam O’Callaghan said: “I’m delighted to be MC for LauraLynn’s first black tie ball.

“It’s a great excuse to put on a nice guna, have a night on the town and do it all for a wonderful cause.

“I have been a patron of LauraLynn from the very start and was there before it was even built so it has a very special please in my heart.

“LauraLynn really makes a difference to the lives of seriously ill children and their families. 

“I’m urging people to put the date in the diary for what will be a tremendous night out.”

Sharon Morrow, CEO of LauraLynn, added: “We are excited to announce our first LauraLynn ball and are most grateful to Miriam who is always at hand to help and support.

“We are looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic event, with proceeds going towards helping the little heroes and families we care for everyday in LauraLynn.”

Other well-known faces expected to attend are presenters Lisa Fitzpatrick and Darren Kennedy.

Members of the Dublin GAA Senior Hurling and Football teams are also expected to be there.

Tickets are priced at €125 each or €1,250 per table of 10. Price includes drinks reception, three course meal, entertainment and afterparty. Tickets are available from www.lauralynn.ie
