THE new Pottery Road Improvement Scheme has been officially opened by the cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Cllr Barry Saul.

This road has been comprehensively improved for all road users, with new footpaths and cycle lanes and energy efficient street lighting. Approximately 11,000 vehicles use this road every day.
The project, which cost €13.5m to deliver, commenced in 2008 and received substantial funding from the National Transport Authority. Funding for the project was also received from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and from Amgen.
Speaking at the launch, Cllr Saul said he was delighted to be opening Pottery Road.
“It brings enormous benefits to all road users particularly for pedestrians and cyclists and is a key piece in developing a cycle culture in the County,” he said.
“The road also provides significant road safety measures for all road users and is a key piece in supporting economic development in the area.”
