Man charged, three others sought after Ballinteer assault

GARDAÍ investigating an assault on three males that occurred at Broadford Road, Ballinteer, Dublin 16, last week have arrested and charged one man in relation to the incident.

The attack is alleged to have taken place on Thursday, May 5 at approximately 8.20pm.
The man was arrested yesterday and was detained at Blackrock Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He appeared before Dun Laoghaire District Court today, charged with assault.
He was remanded on bail to appear at Dún Laoghaire District Court on July 26 next. Three other men are sought by Gardaí in relation to this investigation.
On May 5, the three males, aged 20, 18 and early teens, were cycling on Broadford Road when they were assaulted by four other males who were travelling in a car described as a blue coloured Peugeot. Following the assault, the four males left the scene in the car in the direction of Dundrum.
Two of the injured males were taken to Saint James’ Hospital, one in a serious condition. The other victim was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin.
