Two juveniles arrested after cars enter River Liffey

GARDAÍ have arrested two males following a burglary in Lucan in the early hours of this morning.

Shortly after 4am, gardaí were alerted to a burglary at the Weston housing estate in Lucan. Two cars drove from the scene towards Celbridge Village and came to a stop after crashing and entering the River Liffey at Celbridge Bridge.

There were no injuries.

Two male juveniles were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Lucan Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A number of photos of the dramatic incident were posted on Twitter by Tallaght Ambulance.
