Lighting up a Life for Our Lady’s

THE O’Kelly sisters from Milltown, Ella, Zoe and Flynn, are pictured with Ian Dempsey who was MC for the Light Up A Life remembrance celebrations attended by 9,000 people in Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, Harold’s Cross recently.

A major feature on the Dublin calendar since 1992, the event regularly attracts thousands to the Harold’s Cross campus.

With festive stalls it is a memorable start to the season.  Master of Ceremonies Ian Dempsey introduced a range of musical acts as the lights on the 46ft Christmas tree were switched on by folk musician Finbar Furey.

Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services Harold’s Cross and Blackrock has been providing care for the local community for almost 150 years. In 2014, its team of almost 600 staff and 300 patient care volunteers provided specialist care to around 2,000 individuals. With 218 beds, it offers a range of services from rehabilitation to end-of-life and provides care in patients’ homes across Southside.
