Blackrock gardaí make arrest as part of clampdown on burglaries

GARDAÍ in Blackrock have arrested a man as part of Operation Thor, which is targeting burglars.

As part of the operation, they stopped a car on the M50 last night.

During a search of the car, a number of implements which can be used in the commission of burglaries were found.

A 25-year-man was arrested in connection with this investigation. He was taken to Blackrock Garda Station and detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He is expected to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court on December 18 at 10.30am.

A Garda spokesperson said investigations are continuing.
