Ranelagh memorial service
Dublin People 30 Oct 2015
A MEMORIAL service will be held in Ranelagh this month to mark ‘World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims’, which takes place on Sunday, November 15.

Masses, services and commemoration events will take place around the country that day to remember the lives that have been lost on our roads.
The Road Safety Authority (RSA), local authorities in Dublin, members of An Garda Síochána, the emergency services and road safety advocacy groups are asking people to consider their behaviour out of respect for those who have been killed in collisions.
A total of 735 people have been killed on Dublin roads since 1997 to October 30, 2015. Already this year, 130 families, friends and communities around Ireland have lost a loved one to a road tragedy.
A special memorial service will take place in St Finian’s Lutheran Church on Adelaide Road, Ranelagh, at 3.30pm on Sunday, November 15.
Moyagh Murdock, chief executive of the Road Safety Authority, said: “There isn’t a family or community in Ireland that hasn’t been touched by the tragedy of collisions on our roads. On ‘World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims’, I hope we all take a moment to remember those who have died on our roads and think about the families, friends and communities who have been shattered by these tragedies.”
She added: “As the festive season approaches, now is an opportune time for us all to make a commitment to ourselves and to our families to play our part in keeping our roads free from death and injury. Let’s take personal responsibility for how we use the roads and make sensible decisions about our behaviour. It’s the least we can do for every man, woman and child that has needlessly and tragically died or been injured on our roads.”
