DÚN Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, in conjunction with the emergency services, recently held an open day at the fire station on Kill Avenue to raise awareness of the importance of staying safe during the dark winter months.

The event saw free give-aways to children in the form of hi-visibility vests, goodies and bike safety lights.

This day was part of the council’s ongoing safety awareness campaigns which are ongoing throughout the year.

All these events are supported by the emergency services, including Dublin Fire Brigade, An Garda Siochána, HSE National Ambulance Service, the Civil Defence, the Irish Coast Guard, Irish Water Safety and Dublin Mountain Rescue.
