Book of condolences for Maureen O’ Hara to open in Ranelagh

A BOOK of condolences will be opened at Ranelagh Arts Centre tomorrow following the death of movie legend Maureen O’Hara, who passed away over the weekend at the age of 95.

The film star was born in the south Dublin suburb in 1920 and most recently visited her birthplace in five years ago to officially open the Ranelagh Arts Festival.

The board of Ranelagh Arts Festival extended their deepest sympathy to the family of the actress.

“Maureen was undoubtedly the most famous person ever born in Ranelagh,” said Terry Connaughton, festival board chairman. “We believe we are speaking for all the community in Ranelagh Village and its environs when we say that we are all so proud of her wonderful achievements.”

The book of condolences will open tomorrow, Tuesday, October 26, and run until Saturday, October 31, 11.30am-6pm daily.
