Free city concert to mark submission of Dublin2020 bid
Dublin People 13 Oct 2015
THE Dublin2020 campaign culminates this week as the Bid Book, which outlines why our great city should win the title of European Capital of Culture, is handed over.
Dublin2020 will celebrate the milestone with a free gig in Temple Bar’s Meeting House Square, on Saturday, October 17, featuring performances by Anderson, Darling and The Hot Sprockets, from 8.30pm till late. Popular comedian Eric Lalor will MC the event.
Master of the DIY approach, Anderson - aka Daniel Anderson – made headlines earlier this year when video footage of the musician selling his debut album door to door in Finglas went viral.
The Hot Sprockets play this free gig before embarking on a seven-week Irish Tour.
Dublin duo Darling, whose first album is due out in 2016, also join the line up with their brand of synth-speckled, indie guitar drenched pop rock.
Dublin’s application to be European Capital of Culture has been has been influenced hugely by the thoughts and ideas that have come from the meetings, chats and workshops the Bid team have had with the capital’s citizens. The Dublin2020 team invites Dubliners to come and help celebrate the submission at this free gig.
Entry for Dublin2020Live is free and on a first come, first-serve basis. For guaranteed entry emails should be sent to info@dublin2020.ie with Dublin2020 Live in the subject line.
