Fine Gael has co-opted Steve O’Reilly onto Fingal County Council, replacing outgoing Councillor Punam Rane.

Furthermore, O’Reilly will run for Fine Gael in Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart in June’s local elections.

O’Reilly said that his priorities reflect a “comprehensive understanding of the diverse needs within the constituency.”

He said he would emphasise “more affordable and social housing, ensuring access to quality education, improving public transport, combating anti-social behaviour, strengthening mental health services, and tackling the issue of litter and illegal dumping head-on.”

“I am honoured to step into this role and represent my local community which encompasses parts of Blanchardstown, Castleknock, Corduff, Mulhuddart, Tyrrelstown, Hollystown, Meakstown, Lanesborough, St. Margaret’s/ The Ward and rural areas.”

“As a resident for over 11 years, I’ve seen the potential for positive change. I look forward to working with local communities and Fingal County Council in providing a positive change to the area.”
