Phizzfest 2023 to take place between May 12 and 14
Gary Ibbotson 27 Apr 2023Organisers of Phizzfest, the Phibsborough Community and Arts festival has launched its 2023 programme, taking place over the weekend of May 12 to May 14.
The three-day festival will reflect the cultural, social and artistic diversity of the D7 urban village and will feature over 60 events.
Suitable for all ages and catering for all interests, Phizzfest will include events on music, film, theatre, local history, literature, waterways, and family fun.
Festival highlights include award-winning singer John Francis Flynn, whose recognisable sound will grace Dalymount’s Jodi Stand.
“Also not to be missed is the sweet and haunting sound of four-piece acappella group Landless at All Saints Church,” organisers say.
“Literary highlights include a conversation with leading Irish novelist Joseph O’Connor on his acclaimed new work My Father’s House, with musical accompaniment from Dublin’s Bach Singers.
“On the environmental front, rewilder and award-winning author Eoghan Daltun will talk about his remarkable rainforest project in Beara Peninsula.”
A trad rave, a theatrical tribute to Brendan Behan by author Pat McCabe, a talk exploring the missing paintings of important, undervalued Irish artist Úna Watters, outdoor yoga, a Visual Arts Trail with two local galleries opening to the public for the first time, a screening of award-winning documentary The Farthest at Dunsink Observatory with live musical accompaniment, have all also been confirmed.
