Youth Careers Expo to take place in Fingal

RESTART Youth Careers Expo is set to take place in Fingal on Thursday, March 24.

Taking place in St Peregrine’s GAA Club, Blakestown Road, Dublin 15 and organised by Empower, the local development company for Fingal, the event will see 55 exhibitors showcasing education, training and employment opportunities for local young people.

Hundreds of students from secondary schools throughout Fingal are set to descent on St Peregrine’ s and exhibitors will include TU Dublin, Cyber Quest, Dublin Airport, Shelbourne FC, Careers Portal and many more.

Representatives from a range of Irish further education and training colleges, apprenticeships and universities will be on hand with information on courses and employment opportunities as well as advice on how to apply.

Speaking ahead of the event, Paula Murray, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator at Empower, said:

“Next Thursday’s event is a brilliant opportunity for young people in Fingal to explore the learning and employment opportunities available to them, whether it’s an apprenticeship, a Post Leaving Certificate course, or a career in the public sector.

“The event is aimed primarily at post-primary school students but parents, guardians and members of the public with an interest in learning more about training and employment opportunities are welcome to attend in the afternoon from 2pm.”

The RESTART Youth Career Expo is supported by Pobal and the ARISE fund supported by Dormant Accounts.

The event will also promote the valuable role that social enterprises play in the local economy.
