Body of missing man Dean McCann found in Galway

The body of a missing Dublin man has been found in Galway.

Dean McCann, 28, went missing from his home in Drumcondra, on Saturday, February 5 and was last seen in Eyre Square, Galway on Sunday, February 6.

The last reported sighting of Dean was at a Bank of Ireland ATM in Eyre Square, Galway city shortly after 7am on Sunday morning, February 6.

A missing persons appeal was launched following his disappearance but that was stood down today when Gardai confirmed they located the man’s body in Dangan, Co Galway yesterday.

In a statement, An Garda Siochana said:

“Following the recovery of a body in Dangan, Co.Galway on Sunday, 13th February, 2022, the missing person appeal in respect of Dean McCann, 28 years, has been stood down.

“An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter.”
