Permission for senior citizens accommodation in Ballymun lodged
Gary Ibbotson 08 Nov 2021Independent Dublin City Councillor for Ballymun Noeleen Reilly has welcomed the lodging of planning permission by O’Cualann Co-housing Alliance for a senior citizens complex at Parkview Ballymun.
In a statement, Reilly said: “This piece of land at Parkview has been vacant and derelict for some time now.
“It was due to have been completed a number of years ago and there has been a long history with the developer and Nama until Dublin City Council took ownership.
“It is great now that we see some movement as this planning application has been a long time coming,” she said.
“There is a real need for senior citizens accommodation in Ballymun.
“There are people waiting their whole lives to be housed, there are others who are living in properties bigger than their needs which can now be freed up for families.
“These 36 units, albeit small, are very welcome and I hope to see similar specialized developments in Ballymun meeting the exact needs of residents.”
