Community groups on Dublin’s northside have been allocated funding through the 2020 Community Enhancement Programme (CEP).

Overall, €7m has been made available through the CEP with 3,068 projects around the country benefiting from the fund.

The CEP is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and is designed to support community groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas, through the provision of small capital grants.

The groups on the northside of the city that have successfully applied for funding are: the Casino Park Community Association, Community Law and Mediation, Glin Boxing Club, Donnycarney Community and Youth Centre, Moatview Early Education Centre, New Life Centre, Raheny Guides, St. Anne’s City Farm, St. Anne’s Walled Garden Allotments and Thornwood Residents Association.

Dublin Bay North TD Sean Haughey welcomed the allocation of funds.

He said: “Community groups have played a vital role throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. This funding will help these organisations to continue to serve their communities for the coming years.

“I’d encourage all groups to contact their Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) for information and assistance regarding the 2021 Community Enhancement Programme.”
