Phibsborough has again been named as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world according to Time Out magazine.

“Combining old-school charm and contemporary buzz, Phibsborough feels at once lived-in and lively,” the UK magazine says.

“Locals are spoilt for choice with an abundance of coffee shops, restaurants and pubs right on their doorstep.

“Neighbourhood café Bang Bang is a one-stop shop for brunch burgers and political tote bags.

“Sports bar The Back Page serves pizzas named after some of Ireland’s greatest athletes, while Victorian boozer The Hut slings ‘pints of plain’ by the armful.”

Phibsborough ranked 27th out of 40 neighbourhoods across the world.

Local Fine Gael Councillor for the Phibsborough area Colm O’Rourke said:

“I’m delighted that Phibsborough is receiving world recognition and is being ranked alongside neighbourhoods in cities such as New York, Paris and Seoul.

“Phibsborough is the go-to spot for many and it’s easy to see why. Phibsbourough is such a charming area and its village is home to wonderful bars, cafes, shops and community groups that are so proud of the area.

“Well done in particular to all the community volunteers in Phibsborough who have helped put Phbsborough on the map across the world.

“Bohemian Football Club in particular have to be commended as the club has become a focal point for community involvement.

“Bohemians go beyond football and continually make a stand for social justice, with many of their campaigns making positive news headlines around the world.”
