VIDEO: Mixed reaction to introduction of autofare in Finglas

In the mid-1990s, Dublin Bus introduced the autofare system on the Number 40 route in a bid to protect drivers from being attacked and robbed.

As you can see from this fascinating clip, there was a mixed reaction to the new system, particularly when passengers realised they had to have the exact change or else travel into Dublin Bus HQ with their receipt to reclaim it.
