Buzzfest back in Phibsboro
Dublin People 13 Sep 2019
THERE promises to be a great buzz in Phibsboro this Saturday (September 21) when Phibsboro Village Tidy Towns hosts the area’s annual sustainability festival.
Now in its third year, Buzzfest invites locals to come, watch and learn at the repair café, taste and buy local honey and get simple, sustainable living advice tips on how to help protect and develop biodiversity in the neighbourhood.
Visitors can also learn how to create bee and insect hotels, attend the ancient practice of the blessing of the bees, enjoy the bee and butterfly ballerinas and bob to the reggae sounds of Firehouse Skank Sound System.
Those who fancy a baking challenge can even make a bee-outiful cake for the Buzzfest bake off.
The one day festival coincides with European Sustainable Communities Day, which also falls on Saturday, September 21.
Events include a repair, reuse and rebalancing buzz from 2-5pm at St Peter’s Church Garden.
Groups supporting Buzzfest include Phibsboro’ Men's Shed, Phizzfest Stitchers, voluntary repair experts covering electronics, electrical/electronics, and woodwork/furniture fixers.
There will also be crafters from Phibsboro Active Retirement Group. Bi Urban Dublin 7, Miss Eileen and her ballerinas of Phibsboro, Phibsboro Village Tidy Towns, Wesley Conroy (Master Composter) and the Irish Swift Conservation Society.
