On yer bike!
Dublin People 29 Jun 2019
DUBLIN’S new Lord Mayor, Paul McAuliffe, is getting his term of office off to a ‘wheely’ great start after being presented with his official bicycle by Dublin Cycling Campaign.

This is the second year of what is hoped will become an annual tradition, with the official bicycle having been crowdfunded by Dublin Cycling Campaign supporters last year and supplied by the Dutch Bike Shop in Goatstown.
The official bicycle provides the Lord Mayor with an alternative mode of transport that is efficient, healthy and emissions-free.
The Lord Mayor got an early opportunity to enjoy his new set of wheels during last week’s Velo-city Bicycle Parade on Wednesday, June 26.
“I'm delighted to accept this bicycle from the Dublin Cycling Campaign group on behalf of the Mansion House and I look forward to meeting Dubliners across the city as I put it to good use,” the Lord Mayor said.
“It will certainly be handy on my regular trips from the Mansion House to City Hall. I also intend inviting all city councillors to take the Lord Mayor's Bicycle out into their communities for charity events and to promote cycling in the city.”
Dr Paul Corcoran, Chairperson of Dublin Cycling Campaign, wished the Lord Mayor the best of luck in his term of office.
