Bohs fans show their love for Cian Mullally.

A FIVE-A-SIDE soccer tournament in memory of young Bohs fan Cian Mullally is taking place on Saturday, June 29, at Naas Sports Centre.

The 21-year-old was lost to suicide last November and is still terribly missed by family, friends and fans at Dalymount Park.

Bohemian FC is urging fans of the club to join with Cian’s family and friends to back the soccer tournament by either entering a team or turning up to show their support.

“When we enjoy nights like the recent Dublin derby together with friends, we often also remember those no longer there to share those special moments of collective joy with us,” a club spokesperson said.

“Everyone at Bohemians hopes that as many members and supporters as possible can get behind this tournament.”

Cian’s mam, Mary Mullally, is also encouraging teams to enter the tournament.

“Cian was an avid Bohs supporter and attended as many games as possible,” she added.

“Bohs fans had a great presence at his funeral and sang Hold Me Now at his grave. It was very moving and we really appreciated their support on the day.

“Some of Cian’s friends and his former soccer coach have set up a group called #ok2talkIRL and are organizing this footie festival, 5-a-side soccer tournament for the Cian Mullally Memorial Cup and Shield. It promises to be a great family fun day out.”

All funds raised from the tournament will go towards the Samaritans in Newbridge. Teams can enter through Eventbrite at eventbrite.ie/e/ok2talkirl-footie-festival-tickets-61661879341.

Entries can also be made by email to ok2talkirl@gmail.com or call 087-9085437.
