IT’S a busy time for Irish language youth club, Club Óige Feachtas Baile Munna between winning a National Lottery Good Causes Award and the presentation of scholarships to local brother and sister, Amy Ní Chlérigh (11) and Callan Ó Clérigh (13).

Feachtas Manger, Loretta Ní Churraighín, says that the scholarship to Coláise Aoidh Mhic Bhricne, in Teelin, south west Donegal, will allow Amy and Callan to speak and learn Irish in an enjoyable environment.

Club Óige Feachtas are rightly proud of the young people in the club, both leaders and members, and the interest and work they put into their local community.

The club says it wouldn’t be able to provide scholarships without the funding it receives from Foras na Gaeilge and the Dublin Dun Laoghaire Training Board.

“We (Coláiste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne) are delighted that we can offer a full-scholarship to Amy and Callan,” said Dr Padraíg Ó Tiarnaigh, Chairperson for Coláíste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne. “We look forward to having them with us this summer.”

Club Óige Feachtas are based in Club Baire Setanta, CLB, Ballymun and is open to young Irish Speakers aged 10-18.

The club is open on Friday nights during the school year from 6.30-8.00pm.

Feachtas is also running an Irish language  summer camp in Club Baire Setanta, over the August Bank Holiday (August 5-6).

The cost is €30 and this includes a trip to Tayto Park.
