AN EIGHT-MONTH-OLD Cockapoo from Drumcondra has been crowned Petmania Dublin Puppy of the Year at a gala event in Limerick.

Oscar – owned by Christine Murphy – is a playful, intelligent puppy and a fast learner who already knows lots of tricks.
He can play dead, jump through hoops, roll over, beg and even jump over hurdles. He also loves challenges like hide and seek.
After two months of public voting and over 66,000 votes, 12 puppy finalists from all over Ireland gathered in Limerick recently for the Grand Final and Oscar was deemed best puppy in Dublin.
“We are delighted to crown Oscar as this year’s Dublin Puppy of the Year, a deserving winner oozing with cuteness,” said Emily Miller, Petmania’s Marketing Manager.
“This is our fifth year running the Puppy of the Year competition. Entries and votes are growing hugely year on year. A massive thank you to everyone who got involved.”
Petmania continue to encourage people who are considering bringing a new four-legged friend into their life to think adoption or fostering.
The specialist pet retailer has a number of adoption centre partners across the country and also provide free Puppy Parent Classes to new puppy owners.
