Naomh Peregrine host successful Gaelic For Mothers and Others Blitz

SATURDAY March 23 was a massive day for the community at Naomh Peregrine GAA Club in Dublin 15 and in particular for our very own Northside People Team of the Year, Naomh Peregrine Gaelic for Mothers and Others.

The club had the pleasure of welcoming 20 teams from various parts of Ireland for its annual Naomh Peregrine Gaelic For Mothers and Others Blitz.

The sun shone down as 200 mothers and others descended on this west Dublin club for a day of sport, fun and competition.

As expected each game was an epic battle with 20 teams competing across three pitches.

The event was supported by the families and friends of all team members as the mammies took to the pitch and showed the kids how it should be done!

Following the lunch and raffle kindly sponsored by hundreds of local businesses in Dublin 15 and surrounding area, such as Get Fresh, Salus Training Services, Nudie Foods, WW Catherine Flanagan, Super Food, M3 Mulhuddart Services, Drinkaware and team sponsors Chiropractic First Dublin, the teams moved to the Naomh Peregrine Bar.

There, a Fair Play Award was presented to a member from each team that displayed great sportsmanship and brought a unique element of fun and laughter to day.

Every year, the Naomh Peregrine mothers select a charity to support and this year saw local charity JIGSAW as the benefitting charity.

JIGSAW Dublin 15 is a free, non-judgemental and confidential service supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people aged 12 – 25 living, working or studying in Dublin 15.

The team at JIGSAW provide guidance and support for young people who are going through a difficult time and are located on the 2nd Floor of Blanchardstown Library at the Blanchardstown Centre.

Following the success of the event, Naomh Peregrine are delighted to announce that they raised an outstanding €2,030 for JIGSAW.

The club have also now been selected to host the Leinster Gaelic for Mother Blitz on the 8th of June and are asking locals to come along to support or join in on the fun in what promises to be a great family day out.
