Oh yes they did!

MAGIC was in the air last week when the cast of The Helix Panto, Robin Hood, presented a cheque of €12,000 to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

The money was raised from a designated charity performance of the panto for the children’s hospital. 

The special performance of Robin Hood starring Ireland’s premier tenor, Paul Byrom  (Sheriff of Nottingham), Ciara Mackey (Maid Marion) and Gavin Ryan (Robin Hood), saw all proceeds raised on the night going directly to Temple Street.

To date The Helix Panto has raised over €35,000 for the hospital from designated charity shows over the past two years.

“We’re delighted and have a great sense of fulfilment that our designated charity show for Temple Street Children’s Hospital has raised a remarkable donation of €12,000 for such a worthy cause,” said Marketing Manager of The Helix, Louise Phelan.

“On behalf of all the team here at The Helix we’d like to extend our gratitude to our audiences in helping us raise this donation for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital and we look forward to raising much needed funds for the charity in the future.”

CEO and Creative Director of TheatreworX, Claire Tighe, sent out a big thank you to everybody who came to the charity night performance.

“It was an honour to team up with Temple Street again this year and raise much needed funds for such a worthy cause,” she said.

Events and Community Manager at Temple Street, Angela McNulty said the Temple Street Foundation was proud of all the team at the Helix Panto.

“Not alone do you bring joy to all those who visit the show, but your wonderful gesture of giving up your time and energy for the children in Temple Street really is the icing on the cake,” she told them.

“A heartfelt thank you goes to each and every one of the wonderful team, thank you for making the difference.”
