Euro award for ICHH

INNER City Helping Homeless (ICHH) is to be awarded a European Citizen’s Prize for 2018 after being nominated by Sinn Fein MEPs.

The news came just a week after the organisation’s CEO Anthony Flynn was presented with the Best Dubliner title at the 98FM Best Of Dublin awards.
"To be granted the award is an absolute honour and truly reflects the hard work and dedication from all my team at Inner City Helping Homeless,” Flynn said.
“The award is dedicated to each and every person who contributes time and effort to support the most vulnerable in society.”
The European Citizen’s Prize is awarded to citizens, groups, associations or organisations who have displayed exceptional achievements.
Dublin Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan extended her congratulations to ICHH.
“ICHH were nominated by Sinn Féin for the European Citizen’s Prize for their tireless work on behalf of the homeless people of Dublin,” she said.
“They have kept the homeless issue on top of the political agenda.
“ICHH has expanded to meet the needs of the most vulnerable and its outreach service assists homeless people on a nightly basis across our city.
“Furthermore, campaigns such as ‘FillaLuas’ have inspired hundreds of young people to show compassion by filling the Luas with gifts for those who might find themselves without a place to call home at Christmas.
“As an MEP for the Dublin constituency I am particularly proud of the organisation as they are an outstanding volunteer-led service.”
