BALLYMUN Kickhams and Dublin GAA star Philly McMahon cut the ribbon at the opening of the new Lidl retail outlet at Gulliver’s Retail Park in Santry last week.
The new store was only announced in February and it’s located at the Lidl outlet previously used for ‘warehouse’ sales on an occasional basis.
To celebrate its opening, Lidl welcomed representatives from The Ballymun Regional Youth Resource Centre to the store and presented them with a donation of €1,000.
The new store has been welcomed by local suppliers such as Manning’s Bakery who supply to Lidl’s network of 155 stores throughout the country.
“Through Lidl, Mannings are now introducing a new generation to a taste of traditionally hand baked breads, pies and tarts which are on sale across Lidl stores both nationally and internationally,” said Managing Director Eamonn Manning.
“As a family business, our commitment to the local community and employment is key to our continued success. The new Lidl store in Gulliver’s Retail Park represents another new opportunity for Mannings Bakery, and all Lidl’s Irish suppliers.
“As a proud and long standing supplier to Lidl, we wish them every success in their new Gulliver’s store.”
Lidl Gulliver’s Store Manager Obigraf Daskalov said staff were delighted to open what is Lidl’s 155th store.
“We are right in the heart of a very vibrant area and the whole team is really excited to get to know our new customers over the coming weeks,” he added.
“We have a fantastic state of the art new store packed full of fantastic value and quality products.”
The new store will be open from 7am to 10pm Monday to Friday, 8am-10pm on Saturdays and 9am-9pm on Sundays.
