New Northside trails are launched
Dublin People 12 Aug 2017
VISITORS to the capital can now explore the hidden histories and inspiring sites of the Northside.Â
The new trails
??
‘Iconic Sights, Hidden Highlights’ and
‘Inspiring Spaces, Hallowed Places’ – have been developed by Fáilte Ireland in conjunction with Dublin City Council and Dublin’s Northside Attractions (Dublin’s DNA).Â
The new trails are designed to provide more ways for visitors to explore some of the most interesting historic sites and attractions located in this part of Dublin city including sites such as Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane, James Joyce Centre, the GPO Witness History, EPIC – the Irish Emigration Museum and Croke Park.Â
The trails are the latest addition to the existing Dublin Discovery Trails – a series of FREE self-guided walking trails connected by The Dubline, an orientation route through the heart of the city which introduces visitors to the magical tales of the capital’s colourful past as they explore the streets.
Lord Mayor of Dublin MÃcheál MacDonncha said:
“I am delighted to launch the new Northside trails which are sure to be a welcome addition to the existing Dublin Discovery Trails. Â Â
“It is fitting that the launch is taking place in Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane, one of the iconic venues on the trail.
