THE community in Coultry, Ballymun, held a special event last month to mark the retirement of a very special postman, Arthur Browne.

Arthur delivered to the community for the past 30 years and is popular with everybody because of his qualities  including professionalism and dedication to the job.

Arthur cheered up everyone he met on his rounds with a joke or a song as he cycled from door to door delivering the post, and he’ll be badly missed in the area.

The community came together at the Ballymun Child & Family Resource Centre on June 30 to wish Arthur all the best for the future.

“We appreciate all you have done for us,

? a neighbour said.

“We will miss you and we thank you for all your years of service.

“We take this opportunity in thanking all the neighbours of Coultry for their help in organising and contributing to Arthur’s retirement celebration.

“We would like to thank the staff at The Child & Family Resource Centre Shangan Green Ballymun for facilitating and photographing this very important event.

Staff and management at Ballymun Child & Family Resource Centre also paid tribute to Arthur.

“We would like to wish Arthur Browne all the best in his retirement and a big

‘well done’ to all the neighbours in Coultry who organised a great send off for him,

? a spokesperson said.

“Arthur was their local postman for almost 30 years and was highly regarded in our community and I’m sure we speak for everyone when we say

‘Arthur, you will be missed by us all’.
