Dublin People 19 Jul 2017
A NEW development that will provide 447 beds for students was officially opened on Dorset Street Upper last week.

The Aparto Dorset Point boasts facilities including a games room, a cinema room, a gym and a roof garden and it’s one of five major sites across the city being developed by Hines for student accommodation.
Aparto is the operating platform for all of Hines’ student developments. In addition to Aparto Dorset Point, Hines acquired the 205 bed Aparto Montrose development adjacent to UCD, a 470 bed development at The Binary Hub, a 450 bed development in Summerhill due to be completed in 2018 and a development site on Cork Street, which is subject to planning approval.
Hines’ Managing Director responsible for student accommodation, Alex Knapp, said Dublin was home to a vibrant student population and demand is strong for high-quality, secure, conveniently located accommodation.
“We believe that a student home is more than just a room, it’s also the experience and Dorset Point’s unrivalled amenities are testament to this,
? he added.
Aparto Dorset Point is close to several of the city’s universities and colleges including the DIT Bolton Street campus, the DIT Grangegorman Campus and Trinity College.Â
It is also close to the new LUAS Cross City line.
Aparto Dorset Point includes two ground floor retail units which are available with planning permission for both retail and café use.
The first students will be moving into Aparto Dorset Point ahead of the new academic year in September.
