Development planned for former Royal Oak site

A PLANNING application for 69 apartments on the site of the former Royal Oak pub on Finglas Road has been lodged with Dublin City Council.

The proposed development will consist of two five storey blocks and the units will be made up of 32 two-beds, 19 one-beds, 15 three-beds and three studio apartment units.

All ground floor apartments will have private patios, and all first to fifth floor apartments private balconies.

The development will have a basement car park over two levels, served with separate entrance and exit ramps off Finglas Road providing spaces for 104 vehicles.

The site was granted full planning permission in February 2008 for construction of a seven storey development incorporating 86 apartments but planning consent expired in 2013.

A letter submitted with the application from Dublin City Council states that the local authority has an agreement in principal with architects regarding Part V of the Planning and Development Act for the delivery of social and affordable housing.

The application was made under the name LDC Developments Ltd and the last date for observations is April 18.
