Cabra pupils meet the dairy Moo Crew

IRISH Olympian Derval O’Rourke was given a hand from Christ the King BNS pupils in Cabra at the launch of this year’s National Dairy Council Moo Crew Campaign at the Family Farm in Dublin Zoo last week.

The young students, accompanied by teacher Sarah Quinn and Moo Crew Mascot Milly, answered questions about the programme at a special kids’ press conference that explained how the campaign works.

Moo Crew, The primary dairy moo-vement, is being made available to primary schools this month with a fun and engaging way for children to learn the benefits of a healthy, balanced diet and the importance of exercise.

“We know from its success in previous years that children really enjoy getting involved with Moo Crew,” said top athlete Derval.

“Learning about food as a source of nutrition and the ways to consume a healthy, balanced diet to support growth and health – these are really important life skills which help kids to make smart choices.”

Moo Crew is designed to be linked to the primary curriculum and be easy to implement in a busy classroom.

Children will have the option to create a poster and take part in the Moo Crew class-based competition, with a chance to win a great VIP farm experience at Airfield Farm, where they will have a day packed with adventure.
