Bungee jump back at The Bell
Dublin People 04 Mar 2017
THE Bell Bar & Restaurant in Blanchardstown will be hosting its second annual charity bungee jump next month to raise badly needed funds for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.

The Bell raised €16,655 at their inaugural event last year when 82 jumpers came out to the Bell’s car park to jump in aid of Cystic Fibrosis.
The Bell owner, Barry Horgan, says the day was a huge success but he’s hoping this year’s event will be even bigger, given that Corduff Football Club have recently decided to jump on board.
“We’re hoping to raise more money this year by bringing Corduff on board,” Horgan told Northside People.
“Because it’s for Cystic Fibrosis it’s a chord that strikes home with a lot of people. We have a cross-section of people that participate.
“We had a lot of customers who came on board last year and there were some great scenes on the day, and some really good pictures.”
The addition of Corduff is a notable acquisition for the event with both The Bell and the soccer team looking to provide 120 jumpers on the day, a near 40 extra compared to last year’s event.
For Corduff and their club PRO, John McGuinness, the event was a ‘no brainer’ for the club who are delighted to help out The Bell, who also happen to be one of the club’s sponsors.
“There was a very significant overhead for the event last year with things like insurance, cost of the crane and so forth,” McGuinness said.
“We have a big membership, so they [The Bell] approached us to see if we would support it, in terms of numbers and getting jumpers.
“The reason we came on board is that they are an existing sponsor of the club. So if they’re sponsoring the club, we’ll try and utilise our existing membership [450 members] to see if we can make it an even bigger success than it was last year.”
Locals are being invited to take a sponsorship card and ask friends, family and colleagues to support their jump by posting on social media. Each sponsor card is hoped to raise €250 for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.
The jump will be held on April 29 at The Bell Bar & Restaurant car park. For further details on how to get involved, contact [email protected].
