Woman arrested in Drumcondra stabbing investigation

GARDAÍ have arrested a woman in her 30s in connection with their investigation into a robbery and serious assault that occurred on Lower Drumcondra Road on Tuesday evening (January 3).

The woman was arrested in Dublin last night, shortly before 10pm. She is currently detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

During the incident, a woman in her 30s received a number of stab wounds when she was attacked and robbed by another woman on Lower Drumcondra Road. The injured victim was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital for treatment.

A Garda spokesperson said that the prompt action of gardaí on foot patrol, who assisted the injured woman, greatly assisted in this early arrest.
