Celebrations at Musgrave upgrade

THERE was plenty of laughs at the recent unveiling of Musgrave MarketPlace’s €2.2 million upgraded Ballymun store, which including a hilarious special version of the ‘90s quiz show ‘Supermarket Sweep’.

The event also featured an evening of delicious food and entertainment to celebrate the new-look store off St Margaret’s Road.
At 75,000 sq ft overall, the new Ballymun store has increased in size by 20 per cent and has positioned itself as the ‘cash and carry of the future’, with a range of new speciality areas and cutting edge technology to offer customers a better shopping experience.
Retail and foodservice customers can now avail of free wifi, self-scan store entry and touchscreens that have been installed throughout the cash and carry to provide access to the wider range available from the central distribution warehouse in Blanchardstown.
The store boasts a raft of new and innovative features including specialist meat, fish, cheese and fruit and vegetable counters.
There is also in-store experts at the counters to advise on the latest culinary trends and an in-branch butcher to cut meat to specification.
Leading seafood provider, Oceanpath, has also partnered with Musgrave MarketPlace to deliver fresh, seasonal fish and shellfish on a daily basis.
And there’s a new coffee section by Capitol Coffee providing equipment, beans and cleaning materials.
The hundreds of new products in the upgraded store are also available online.
Musgrave MarketPlace Ballymun currently employs 65 staff and as part of the upgrade three new roles have been created to ensure customers receive expert information and advice from trusted advisors.
