Aladdin stars light up Temple Street

THERE was more than a hint of magic in the air when the stars of Aladdin arrived to put a smile on the face of young patients, families and staff in Temple Street Hospital recently.

Aladdin, played by singing sensation Tom Moran, was joined by the lovely Princess Jasmine (Danielle Williamson) and the Genie (Adam Lynch) in an entertaining visit to cast a spell over the young patients and medics.

And panto goers are being given the chance to help raise funds for the sick children at Temple Street by buying tickets at a special price of €20 per seat to a charity performance on Thursday, December 1.

Aladdin opened last week and runs until January 22 at The Helix but the December 1 performance is entirely dedicated to helping the young patients at Temple Street Hospital.

“Christmas is such a special time of year here in Temple Street and this fundraising initiative will really make the world of difference to sick children and their worried families,” said Angela McNulty, Events and Community Manager at Temple Street.

“We will be putting the funds raised to good use to ensure our wonderful little patients have access to the best equipment, services and facilities possible.

“Everyone here at the hospital wish the cast and crew of Aladdin the very best of luck and we are so grateful to The Helix and Theatreworx for their incredible support this festive season.”

Packed full of stunning special effects including a real flying carpet, Aladdin set in the magical city of Agrabah, is destined to amaze, amuse, and truly enchant audiences.

“We are delighted to be dedicating our talents to a really great cause and we are hoping for a packed house on December 1 in support of Temple Street,” said Helix panto producer, Claire Tighe.
