THE Maxol M3 Mulhuddart Services station has been featured at a national trade show in the US that celebrates exceptional convenience retailers.
The local services station, which was recently named Ireland’s best forecourt at the Irish Forecourt and Convenience Retailer Awards, was featured in the programme ‘Ideas 2 Go’, developed by the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) and broadcast as part of its annual NACS Show, taking place in Atlanta.
NACS officials visited Maxol M3 Mulhuddart Services in June this year, where the group was met by CEO Brian Donaldson and Maxol’s company directors and given a tour of the facilities.
The state-of-the-art service station is Maxol’s largest in almost 100 years of company history. It opened last April and already has an average of 30,000 customers visiting the service station each week.
Located on the N3, the €6 million investment created 84 jobs in the Mulhuddart area. The 2.5 acre site offers a modern forecourt design and includes Irish food franchises Chopped, Supermacs and Insomnia as well as Maxol’s own food brand, Moreish Fresh Food at Maxol.
Maxol’s CEO, Brian Donaldson, said it was a privilege to feature as part of ‘Ideas to Go’.
“It’s something we are very proud of today considering more than 20,000 attendees from 60 countries attend this event,” he added.
“A lot of hard work went into establishing a unique service station that offers our customers a wide range of convenient food offerings in modern and attractive surroundings.”
NACS vice president and executive producer of Ideas 2 Go, Jeff Lenard, explained what the trade show was all about.
“Since 1994, Ideas 2 Go has provided a fast-paced video tour of some of the most interesting, creative and potentially profitable ideas in the convenience and fuel retailing industry,” he said.
“It showcases emerging concepts that redefine convenience—as well as quick takeaways that retailers could easily implement at their own stores. Maxol M3 Mulhuddart Services certainly showcases great ideas that are redefining how convenience stores deliver convenience.”
The NACS Show is the premier event of the year for the convenience and fuel retailing industry. More than 20,000 attendees from 60-plus countries attended the four-day 2016 NACS Show in Atlanta.
