College announces new partnership on graduation day
Dublin People 10 Jun 2016THE graduation of an incredible 1,000 students was celebrated earlier this month at Colaiste Ide College of Further Education at Cardiff Bridge Road, Finglas.
The large number of graduates meant that two ceremonies had to be held in the college’s Graduation Hall at 2pm and 5pm on June 2.
On the day, Colaiste Ide announced a newly established partnership with prominent local business, KSG, the largest Irish owned catering service provider in the country.
The college is working collaboratively with KSG to provide
opportunities for the students and support the local community.
Located on McKee Avenue, Finglas, KSG can offer students practical work experience while they are in college and also the prospect of employment post-graduation for those who are suitably qualified.
KSG has also introduced Bursary Awards comprising a cash sum and a range of culinary publications, such as Larousse Gastronomique, which were presented to four students who graduated on June 2.
Principal of Colaiste Ide, Jean FitzGerald, says KSG’s commitment to the college will benefit the local community as a whole, by offering opportunities to students.
“Our Jobs Fair in April was a huge success and many of our students found employment through organisations such as KSG,” she added.
“Also KSG has given an undertaking to renovate and paint the canteen facilities in the college. which will benefit everyone including students, teachers and visitors.
“I want to thank Brian Hogan. CEO of KSG, and his entire team, and on behalf of Colaiste Ide I look forward to a long and prosperous partnership and a mutual beneficial relationship between both parties.”
