Kind-hearted Holly makes a dog’s day in Finglas
Dublin People 28 May 2016
NORTHSIDE model and columnist, Holly Carpenter, paid an impromptu visit to the Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Finglas last week to drop off some tasty treats for the four-legged residents.
Holly, having rescued two dogs from Dogs Trust, Toby and Gus, is a huge supporter of the charity and decided to use her day off to do a good deed.
Documenting the exciting morning on her Snapchat account, the avid dog lover made time to say hello to some of the dogs and puppies looking for their forever homes, including Alex, a five-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who, as reported last week in Northside People, was recently tied to a pole and abandoned outside the rehoming centre.
Dogs Trust Operations Manager, Cat Birt, said the staff were delighted when Holly turned up.
“It was so lovely for Holly to use her day off to pop up to the centre with so many treats for our dogs,” she said.
“Holly has always been an advocate for adopting rescue dogs and her donation today will make lots of dogs very happy. It’s brilliant to see famous faces using social media to highlight the causes of their favourite charities.
“Hopefully Holly’s Snapchat story will help us find homes for some of the fabulous dogs in our centre.”
