A TOUCH of Hollywood glamour descended on the Odeon cinema, Charlestown, Finglas, over the recent bank holiday weekend as the stars came out in force to support LauraLynn’s first ever Oscar’s Night.

Hosted by style guru and TV presenter, Lisa Fitzpatrick, the event featured the screening of six short films starring the children of LauraLynn and their families.

Each film was directed and produced by a sibling with the support of Windmill Lane Studios and script writer, Carol Walsh.

From a thrilling James Bond plot to a hilarious Home Alone comedy, awards were presented on the night for Best Picture, Best Comedy, Best Drama, Best Stunts, Best Film Score and Best Adopted Movie. The awards were presented by special guests, including Paul Kelly of the Great Irish Bake Off.

Lisa Fitzpatrick said: “I was delighted to host the LauraLynn Oscar’s Night on behalf of these incredible children and their families. They’ve all worked so hard over the past few weeks screenwriting, producing and acting, of course, and have created some brilliant short films.

“It’s fantastic that we can give them a true red carpet experience.”

Working with families and siblings is a key area of support at LauraLynn. As part of the ongoing support for the family, LauraLynn’s multidisciplinary team includes a music therapist, a play specialist and a psychologist. A core part of the team’s activity is creating engaging memory making activities for the children and their families.
