Cyclist critically injured after collision with pedestrian

GARDAÍ in Cabra wish to appeal for witnesses to a serious injury collision that occurred in the Phoenix Park yesterday evening at approximately 8.40pm.

A male cyclist in his 50s, who was cycling on the cycle lane on the upper part of Chesterfield Ave (the city bound side between the Aras and Castleknock Gate), was seriously injured when he was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

The male cyclist was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he is described as being in a critical condition. The male pedestrian in his 30s was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital with leg and back injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Cabra Garda Station on 01-6667400, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
